This safety minute highlights a service available at CSU: SafeWalk. Anyone on campus between dusk and dawn can call SafeWalk to have a student employee of the CSU Police Department walk with them to another location on or near campus, for free.

This minute covers the ongoing attempt for unionization for public college employees in Colorado, specifically graduate students. The goal is to give people a better idea of what is being solicited from them by visiting union reps.

Political burnout is described by feelings of exhaustion and anxiety related to the current political climate. The burnout can be exacerbated by constant exposure to news through social media, news apps, and TV. This DEIJ minute addresses the symptoms of political burnout and ways to mitigate them. It can be helpful to set boundaries and be mindful about the way we consume information, or to take action by peacefully protesting, donating to important causes, and volunteering

Travelling to, from, and away campus always involves crossing at least one street, whether or not you drive to school! Here are some helpful reminders of the laws and safe practices for dealing with crosswalks as a driver and as a pedestrian.

This is a safety minute for 02/06/2026 from Grant Luce. Its goal is to remind people of the simple operating procedures for use of a fume hood.  I have not been reminded of many of these rules since my early years in undergrad, so I thought it could be a helpful refresher.

We use many different optics in our labs, such as lenses, filters, and mirrors, whether we are building a new spectrometer or performing daily alignments.
