Safety Minute – Safety Signage – May 16, 2025

There are many safety hazards present when working with high energy ultrafast lasers like the ones we use in the Krummel group, so it is important to communicate the nature of specific risks and how to mitigate them. Posting signs on laser lab doors with details of the laser system such as laser class, output energy, and wavelength is one way to make sure that all laser users are informed and able to implement necessary safety precautions. These signs should be updated if the information changes, like when laser systems are upgraded. See the attached file from our group meeting and the links below for more information.
